Caring & Sharing
There will always be good days and some bad days. You will do well, the team not so well. You’ll put in a shocker and the team will do well.

Same in Family situations, you’re feeling great, the rest of the family isn’t or you’re down and the family isn’t.

That’s Life

We need a commitment to relationships, loyalty, integrity, consistency, an on-going developing confidence and self image.
We must be more sensitive and caring of our friends, loved ones, team-mates and appreciate them more, be kind and considerate and thoughtful.

Often we pay colossal price for not caring enough.

During my time as an army chaplain in Sydney, I heard the true story of a Vietnam veteran, who arrived back in Brisbane at the end of the war.

He rang his parents in Melbourne, asking if he could bring a friend home to stay awhile seeing he had no family and had been terribly injured by a land mine. This resulted in his friend losing an arm, a leg and an eye. His parents refused point blank to have their son’s friend home for a little time.

The next day the parents received a shocking telegram saying that their son had committed suicide by jumping from the city office block. When his parents went to identify their son’s body to their horror they discovered he had one arm, one leg and one eye.

What a terrible price to pay for not caring enough.

Please care for your families and for one another.

Rev Paul Burnham Sports Chaplain Melbourne Football Club & Ballarat Football Club.
