Love of Competition, it’s all in the state of the MIND

LOVE OF COMPETITION
You cannot expect to be great without loving the competition situation, top competitors love competition because they know that this will bring their best performance out of them - they thrive on the occasion, the more you compete, the easier it becomes, the better you get.
Often competition is not against someone else, but yourself. High achievers set themselves a standard to reach, they take pride in their own performance.
“WHEN THE GOING GET‘S TOUGH, THE TOUGH GET GOING”. .
AGGRESSIVE ENTHUSIASM
Defensive, tentative people never succeed. The person who approaches his goals with keenness and enthusiasm has a greater chance of succeeding because he is in the right frame of mind for success .
Successful aggression means that whatever you do, you do it to the best of your ability. Winners really go for it with everything they have got, without holding back. You cannot work up to your maximum ability if you’re not enthusiastic.
FAILURE
All high achievers have failed somewhere along the way to success . The road to success if filled with many ups and downs. It never has been a straight path to success. The winners see set backs as an opportunity to improve, to get better and stronger, no matter how dark their current situation. Winners tell themselves that greater benefits are there ready for them just around the corner. The bigger the failure you can bounce back from, the bigger the success you can gain .
There is nothing wrong with failing .To fail in itself is not a sin, but to accept it and do nothing about making sure that next time you will win is a crime. Losers fail and it doesn’t bother them. Winners see failure as a temporary setback and build a burning desire to redeem themselves.
“WINNERS TAKE THE PUNISHMENT OF DEFEAT AS AN URGE FOR GREATER EFFORT”
A man may make mistakes, but he isn’t a failure until he blaming someone else.
EMOTIONAL CONTROL
How often have you seen a person of great natural ability blow it because he could not keep his emotions under control. You cannot function at your best either physically or mentally if you are concentrating on arguing with officials or yourself. The important thing is that we recognise the good things and not get lost in self pity over misfortunes. Realise that once a mistake is made, you must accept it, profit by it, and then totally dismiss it from your mind.
COURAGE TO ACT
Nothing in this world is ever absolutely certain or guaranteed, the difference between a successful man and a failure is not one’s better abilities, but the courage that one has to bet on his ideas, to take a calculated risk - and to act. Be willing to make a few mistakes, to suffer a little pain to get what you want. You have got the resources, but you will never know you’ re got them until you act and give them a chance to work for you.
“THE LONGEST JOURNEY STARTS WITH A SINGLE STEP “
FINAL NOTE
Every athlete has each of these traits to a certain extent, it is less degree, however, to which he possesses the trait that may make the difference between being a winner and a loser .
It is just as important to be working towards the development of the traits as it is to be working towards to development of talent and technique.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A WINNER?
ALL IN A STATE OF MIND
If you think you are beaten, you are, If you think you dare not, you don’ t
If you’d like to win, but think you can’t, It’s almost a cinch that you won’t
If you think you’ll lose you’ve lost, for out in the world you find
Success begins with a fellows will, It’s all in the state of mind
Feel many a race is lost
Before ever a step is run
And many a coward fails
Before ever his work’s begun
Think big and your deeds will grow, Think small and you’ II fall behind THINK THAT YOU CAN AND YOU WILL, It’s all in the state of mind
If you think you are outclassed you are, You’ve got to think high to rise
You’ve got be sure of yourself before, You can ever win a prize
Life’s battles don’t always go to the stronger or fastest man
But sooner –or later –the man who wins is the fellow who believes he can
